The providers and staff at West Knoxville Pediatrics truly care about children and their well-being. We believe that all children deserve access to quality health care.
As part of the community we want to you to know that we are diligently working to stay abreast of the recommendations for providing healthcare to the children of our area. We want to encourage you to continue to be conservative in your trips outside of your home. Please feel free to call our office about any symptoms your child may have so that we can help make the best decision for your child.
To minimize the risk of infection from COVID-19, we have made some changes in our office procedures. Until further notice we will be asking you to check in from your vehicle instead of coming into the waiting room. When you arrive for your appointment, we ask that you call us (865) 470-8844 and stay in your car. As soon as an exam room is available, we will call you back and give you your room number so that you can walk directly into it. We will have a set of rooms designated for sick visits and a set of rooms for well visits only. We will also be using separate entrances for well or sick patients, and you will be directed on which one to use. Our request of your family is to please minimize the number of family members that accompany your child into the office.
We realize that you have multiple medical care options, and we want to thank you for entrusting the care of your child to us. We will strive to give excellent care to all the children of our community.
We would be delighted to welcome you into our family.

Karie McLevain-Wells, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Life is about transitions and new adventures. I have 19 years of experience as a general pediatrician in Middle Tennessee, but I have only recently returned to East Tennessee to realize my dream of coming home to the community who taught me.
I truly enjoy helping people. I love getting to know patients and watching them develop from newborns to young adults. What could possibly be a more joyful job than that?
My husband and I have three sons who range in age from 15 to 25. My practice philosophy is to listen to the instincts of the child’s parent and be sure we are all comfortable as we can be at the end of the visit. It would be my honor to be entrusted to help care for your child.

I spend most of my time with my husband and three sons. I enjoy cooking with them, watching movies, and exploring “off the beaten path” in the mountains or working on the family farm.
- Back to School – Well Exams and Immunizations
In the midst of shopping lists, class registrations and a million other little things, a yearly physical could be the last thing on your mind for your child. Dr. McLevain-Wells says starting your child off with a routine well exam before school starts can help set them up for success throughout the year.

Elizabeth Robinson, P.N.P.
Since I was young, I loved learning about the human body in school. I also knew that I wanted to work with children, so I combined the two and became a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
I have walked alongside parents as their children’s P.N.P for more than 13 years. I don’t take parents’ trust for granted. I love seeing a child’s world as they smile, laugh, and describe their thoughts and feelings to me; their enthusiasm for life is contagious.
I have been blessed to adopt three wonderful children. We love being with extended family, attending church activities and just living life together. I look forward to meeting you and your child. I am eager to walk this journey with you to see your child mature into a healthy young adult.

I enjoy my family most of all. I also enjoy reading, traveling to Disney and the beach, playing soccer, and going to amusement parks. In fact, I really like to ride roller coasters even though none of my kids like the big ones!
