Here at ETCH, our Plastic Surgery team can evaluate and treat a variety of common pediatric skin lesions including:

• keloids
• scars
• cysts
• nevi
• cutaneous masses
• pigmented lesions
• pressure ulcers

Treatment options vary depending on the type of lesion and your Plastic Surgery provider will evaluate and make recommendations based on the needs of your child.

How are lesions removed?

There are 3 options for removing a lesion: the office, sedation suite, or OR.

Many lesions can be removed during one of our in-office procedure days.

We also offer the Sedation Suite here at ETCH for patients having a minor procedure that requires them to have light sedation. This is also a good option for younger patients or older kids and teens with anxiety about being awake for their procedure.

Some lesions may require removal in the OR due to size or location on the body.

You and your child along with the Plastic Surgery provider will discuss which option best fits your child’s needs.
