SPECT Imaging

SPECT stands for Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography. It produces a three-dimensional image of the body part being examined. We add SPECT imaging when we need information, we cannot get through routine Nuclear Medicine images.

SPECT images are normally added to the original scan and can take up to an additional 20-25 minutes per body part.

**If unable to remain still, sedation can be used.
