Clinics
Children’s Hospital’s Sickle Cell Clinic is for young patients with sickle cell disease (a chronic blood disorder) For many, it is the first opportunity they have had to meet other patients with their diagnosis and for their parents to connect with each other. It is also intended to be one-stop for these patients and families to be able to meet with all the multiple disciplines they need since sickle cell disease can affect so many aspects of their life.

The SHINE clinic is geared toward empowering childhood cancer survivors and their families to be Strong, Healthy, Informed, Nurtured, and Engaged (SHINE!). It is a group visit at the Hematology/Oncology clinic that includes time to connect and share with other survivors, small group sessions on the after-effects of treatment, as well as a private physician visit and one-on-one meetings with other members of our team.
