Little Stand, Big Heart
For nearly ninety years, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital has provided state-of-the-art care for the children in our region. Just like we’ve been your partner in your child’s care, you’ve also been our partner in supporting our healthcare system.
The hospital’s community extends far beyond its walls. Many have found inspiration from their experiences at the hospital to give back in their own ways, like Lil Man’s Lemon Shake Ups.
A family-run mobile lemonade business based in East Tennessee, Lil Man’s Lemon Shake Ups started as part of a homeschool project in April 2023 for the owner’s oldest son, Remington. “It’s become a joyful, community-driven way for us to teach entrepreneurship, spread kindness, and brighten people’s day — one shake up at a time,” said Lil Man’s Lemon Shake Ups owner, Autumn Martin.
Although the business began as a project, it quickly turned into a bigger purpose after the passing of Autumn’s youngest son, Weston, in January 2024 due to febrile seizure. In his memory, they created Weston’s Warriors where they donate up to 30% of their profits to support local organizations, including East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
“The staff treated our family with care and dignity during the most heartbreaking moment of our lives. We will always be thankful for the kindness and respect we were shown.” Today, you will find Lil Man’s Lemon Shake Ups from time-to-time on the hospital’s Family Plaza making delicious lemonade and bringing smiles to patients and staff on a hot, sunny day. Their business makes an impact on the children in our region, while creating a legacy that will serve future generations.
With your help, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital can continue to take care of our future, one child at a time. From lemonade stands to black tie dinners, members of the community with a shared interest in the mission of East Tennessee Children's Hospital help raise funds all over the region. Their time and efforts are limitless, and the hospital greatly appreciates the support. If you’d like to donate or host a fundraiser, please visit etch.com/ways-to-give/ to learn more.
