Children’s Hospital Recognized for Patient Safety and Excellence in Sedation
East Tennessee Children’s Hospital was recently recognized for patient safety and excellence in sedation.
Children’s Hospital was named the February Solutions for Patient Safety Hospital of the Month. Chosen from 140 hospitals, the Children’s Hospitals’ Solutions for Patient Safety Network is an unparalleled, collaborative effort among children’s hospitals working to transform pediatric patient and employee safety to eliminate serious harm across all children’s hospitals. This is the sixth time the hospital has won the award in the last 10 years since the contest’s creation.
In addition, the hospital earned the Center of Excellence in Pediatric Sedation by the Society for Pediatric Sedation. This designation is meant to recognize Pediatric Sedation Services for their work in safe, high quality pediatric procedural sedation care who participate in ongoing quality improvement. Less than 50% of new applications in recent years have received this designation.
“Children’s Hospital is honored to be recognized for exceptional patient safety and excellence in sedation,” said Matt Schaefer, President and CEO of East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. “This is all made possible by the commitment and high-quality care our team members provide to our patients every day.”
