Congratulations to Brooke Howard, DAISY Award winner for August 2021
Brooke is a HUC in the NICU.
"I had Child Protective Services (CPS) visit me and was upset all day. Everyone made me feel different in a bad way. The only person that made my day was Brooke. She was super sweet and very concerned. She made me feel better about myself. She was an amazing person."

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors extraordinary nurses who provide compassionate and skillful care every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way. Please say thank you by sharing your story of how a nurse made a difference you will never forget!
