How do I apply for a job posting?

To apply, just visit our online job board and submit your application online. You will know that you application was received and is being reviewed when you receive an automated email response.

What if I am unable to apply online?

How long does it take to complete an online application?

The length of the application process varies, depending on your computer and the type of Internet connection you are using. Typically, an application can be completed in about 30 minutes or less.

What happens after I submit my application?

Once you have submitted your application, it will be reviewed by our Employment Specialists who will work with the hiring department’s manages in order to assess each candidate and select the best possible candidate for the job.

Will you contact me after I have submitted an application?

When you submit your application online, you will receive an automated email message confirming the successful submission of your application. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted by phone by someone in Human Resources.

How can I check the status of my application?

You can check the status of your job application by logging in to the job board and reviewing your application history.

Does East Tennessee Children’s Hospital promote the development of their current employees?

Children’s Hospital provides many opportunities for our staff to develop and advance in their career. We encourage our employees to review internal job postings and apply for any position of interest. We also encourage our employees to take part in our tuition reimbursement program, leadership classes, etc.

How long does an employee have to remain in their position before becoming eligible to transfer into another position or department?

Before you will become eligible to transfer, you must be in your current position for at least six months and you must not be currently under any corrective action, including a written warning, within the past rolling calendar year.

Does Children’s Hospital provide tuition reimbursement for employees wishing to return to school?

Children's Hospital is excited to support our employee’s educational goals by providing financial assistance. After six months of employment, you will be eligible. We provide tuition reimbursement for both full-time and part-time benefit eligible employees. Our Tuition Reimbursement Program enables employees to pursue relevant undergraduate and graduate degrees providing that the program they attend is accredited and will result in a degree that could benefit an employee in a position within our organization.

Where do I park?

All employees are assigned to a designated parking garage depending on what shift they are assigned to work. The cost to park at all of our locations is free.

What does PRN mean?

A PRN position means that the employee works on an as-needed basis to cover staffing vacancies. PRN positions may not have a set schedule or guaranteed hours, and are not eligible for benefits.

What is a temporary position?

A temporary position is established for the short term and/or hired for a specific assignment or project. Temporary employees are typically not eligible to receive benefits.

Can I apply for more than one job?

You are more than welcome to apply for more than one job, providing that you meet the basic qualifications of the job. Please keep in mind, that applicants can have up to eight active applications at one time.
