Make a Donataion to Radiothon

What is the Radiothon?

People from throughout East Tennessee are invited to help make a difference in the lives of countless area children by supporting the 7th annual Star 102.1 Radiothon for East Tennessee Children's Hospital at West Town Mall in Knoxville Thursday and Friday, February 28 and 29. Star 102.1 morning personalities Marc & Kim and Frank will broadcast live from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

The Radiothon will feature compelling interviews with Children's Hospital patients and their families, while Marc & Kim and Frank will encourage listeners to "tune in for children" and make a personal pledge to help Children's Hospital. Listeners also will be encouraged to come by West Town Mall to experience Radiothon firsthand and share their own stories about children they know who have been helped by Children's Hospital.

Unlike many fund-raising events, the Star 102.1 Radiothon offers an opportunity for people in the community to meet the children and parents who will benefit from their generosity.

Children helped by Children's Hospital live in your neighborhood, attend local schools and participate in the same activities as your children or grandchildren. Marc & Kim and Frank hope their listeners will hear these children's stories, know that Star 102.1 is trying to tell East Tennessee more about what Children's Hospital does, call to share their own stories and help buy much needed equipment for the hospital by donating money during the Radiothon.

Children's Hospital is here to help children from across the street or from throughout the region, and every child is helped regardless of the family's ability to pay. All funds raised from the Star 102.1 Radiothon will be used in ways that directly affect the children served by Children's Hospital through programs including Home Health Care.

Last year's Star 102.1 Radiothon for Children's Hospital raised $232,000 to purchase equipment for various departments and services at the hospital. The goal for this year's event is $220,000.

Since it began, the Star 102.1 Radiothon has raised more than $1 million for Children's Hospital.

To volunteer to help during the Radiothon or for more information, contact the Children's Hospital Community Relations Office at (865) 541-8165 or e-mail slinkous@etch.com.

How you can help!

Look for the Cash Cow!:
It's time to "MOOVE your change" because the "Cash Cow" (also known as the Chick-fil-A cow) will be roaming East Tennessee in the weeks leading up to the Star 102.1 Radiothon, looking for cash to donate to Children's Hospital.

The Cash Cow will visit a variety of businesses to accept donations from employees. On some visits, Marc, Kim or Frank from Star 102.1 will also be along for the fun and to thank the company for participating and for supporting the Star 102.1 Radiothon for Children's Hospital. The Cash Cow will also join the Star 102.1 crew on live remotes throughout the region in the weeks before the Radiothon.

Every individual who makes a donation to the Cash Cow - whether the donation is 50 cents or $50 - will receive a coupon for free Chick-fil-A food. So donors have absolutely nothing to lose and free food to gain!
