Recognizing Special Teachers in East Tennessee for making a difference in our children’s lives
Presented by Shoney’s, Children’s Hospital and WVLT-TV
Everyone remembers a special teacher that had a great influence on their life. It may have been a teacher that challenged you to think or encouraged you to pursue a special talent.
Today’s teachers face more challenges than ever before, and they are meeting those challenges with dedication, compassion and caring for our area’s children. To show appreciation for these special individuals, Shoney’s, Children’s Hospital and WVLT-TV will recognize an area teacher each week through the end of the school year with the Golden Apple Award.
Anyone in the community can nominate a special teacher, but children and parents are particularly encouraged to tell about a teacher who has really made a difference in a student’s education.
Each week, beginning January 24, one of WVLT-TV’s personalities will surprise the week’s Golden Apple Award winner with a special presentation, and a segment on the teacher will air every Wednesday night during the 7 p.m. newscast and every Thursday between 6 and 7 a.m. on WVLT-TV’s morning show.
Help Shoney’s, Children’s Hospital and WVLT-TV recognize area educators who are making a difference and determined to improve the lives of our children. Nominate your favorite teacher by printing the nomination form and mail to: Golden Apple Teacher Nominations, WVLT-TV, 6516 Papermill Road, Knoxville, TN 37919. |
