Tree, other prizes from Target to be raffled at 2008 Fantasy of Trees

Along with the great variety of holiday sights, sounds and celebrations at the 2008 Fantasy of Trees, visitors to the 24th anniversary of this favorite East Tennessee event will have an opportunity again this year to take part of the festive atmosphere back home for their holidays.

Fantasy visitors will be able to purchase a ticket for just $5 for their chance to win either a beautiful seven-foot tree decorated by Target Stores of Knoxville or one of five second prizes. The special raffle tree will be surrounded by a variety of electronics, children's toys, games, holiday goodies and much more. The tree and everything that surrounds it are being donated to the Fantasy of Trees by Target, and the lucky first place winner will take home the entire package.

Each of the five second prizes is a $500 gift card from Target.

"Tickets are just $5, and individuals can purchase as many tickets as they want to have a chance to take home a fabulous tree or a Target gift card worth $500," said Elizabeth Thomas, director for the holiday event. "Best of all, the monies raised from this effort will support the children served by Children's Hospital."

The $5 raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the Fantasy of Trees event at the Knoxville Convention Center beginning on Wednesday, November 26 at 9 a.m. Tickets will be sold throughout the five-day event, ending at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, the day's final event. Winners will be chosen immediately after the ticket-selling ends, and the tree will be delivered to the winning entrant on Monday, December 1.

"Being our best in the community is one of Target's core beliefs," said Donnie Dockery, District Team Leader for Target. "Throughout the country, we give back over $3 million each week to charities. We're excited about our participation again this year, providing not only a raffle tree but also five $500 Target gift cards as prizes at the Fantasy of Trees to benefit Children's Hospital."
