Be a Trees of Faith Designer
at the 2008 Fantasy of Trees

Consider making a commitment to participate as a Trees of Faith designer for the 24th annual Fantasy of Trees to benefit Children's Hospital.

This year's theme, "There's No Business Like Snow Business," offers a fun environment for Fantasy of Trees visitors, but the inclusion of Trees of Faith helps to maintain the focus on the true meaning of Christmas and continues to spotlight faith in the designer promenade.

The Trees of Faith area of the show enables churches and religious organizations to participate in a charitable community event while sharing the true joy of Christmas. Participants design, decorate and donate a Tree of Faith with ornaments created by the group. The tree is sold at the Fantasy of Trees, and all proceeds benefit Children's Hospital.

Organizations designing a Tree of Faith receive the choice of two Gala tickets and 4 show tickets, or 34 show tickets.

Designer contracts should be returned as soon as possible, as there are a limited number of openings in this category. Deadline for contracts was May 30, 2008. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Fantasy of Trees office at 541-8451.

Trees of Faith Guidelines
  1. All trees will be artificial and will be provided by Fantasy of Trees to ensure quality and proper assemblage suitable for delivery of a fully decorated tree to the purchaser. In addition, the Fantasy of Trees will provide sturdy, wooden tree stands suitable for the weight of a fully decorated tree and appropriate for delivery safety.
  2. All trees will be decorated at the Knoxville Convention Center during the set-up times for Trees of Faith.
  3. All trees must have strings of white miniature lights, as experience has shown that unlighted trees do not show or sell well.
  4. Fantasy of Trees will provide one electrical outlet per tree, 100 volt and 500 watts.
  5. Designers must provide any necessary extension cords to reach from the tree to the outlet. The extension cord must be a multi-plug power strip, which typically has 6 outlets and is usually rated at 15 amps. This is a requirement of the Fire Marshall and the Knoxville Convention Center and will be strictly adhered to. Extension cords must remain and become the property of the purchaser.
  6. Trees of Faith participants are encouraged to use ornaments/decorations that are handmade by your group.
  7. All ornaments with inserted or slip-on hanging attachments must be securely glued together to ensure non-separation during delivery.
  8. All ornaments, lights, garland or other materials must be securely twist-wired to the tree using floral wire to ensure attachment during delivery. DO NOT glue ornaments to the tree.
  9. All trees must have suitable tree skirts, fabric or other appropriate materials encircling the base and fully covering the tree stand and must remain with the tree for the purchaser.
  10. Designers are encouraged to include appropriate items under the tree, which will remain with the tree for purchase. Creative presentation enhances the design and makes the tree more attractive to purchasers.
  11. Trees must be fully decorated on all sides.
  12. Tree toppers must be detachable for delivery purposes. Tree toppers add height and therefore prohibit the tree from fitting into the truck without causing damage to the tree topper. It is helpful to leave the tree topper box with the tree so that it may be safely packed in that box to be delivered.
  13. Please refrain from using any type of material that could easily break or deflate (no balloons).
  14. Food items such as candy canes, cookies, popcorn or marshmallows ARE NOT ALLOWED. This is a policy of the Knoxville Convention Center and must be adhered to.
