My son Joel was one of those children who needed Children's Hospital for some everyday pediatric health problems — recurrent ear infections and respiratory issues. My wife Christie, Joel and I made quite a few visits to Children's Hospital since he was born in late May 2009. We experienced various parts of Children's Hospital including the ER on multiple occasions and the second floor where Joel was admitted two separate times.
In each of these visits, our family was overwhelmed with the level of care we received. Our experiences, while difficult due to Joel's illnesses, were made better by the nursing staff, doctors and others at Children's Hospital. As a member of the FAC, I hope to give back to Children's and its staff as appreciation for the care they provided for Joel.
