Cathy Shuck-Sparer
In 2006, my daughter, Celia June, spent seven months in the NICU at Children's Hospital after she was born prematurely at 24 weeks' gestation (16 weeks early). During her stay, she was cared for by all of the doctors and virtually all of the nurses in the NICU, by everyone on the respiratory therapy staff, by most of the surgeons, and by many, many of the other wonderful professionals at Children's Hospital.

Even though we ultimately lost Celia, we made many friends in the NICU and at Children's Hospital, and I am very happy to be able to give back in a small way by being part of the Family Advisory Council.
