Directions to Children’s Hospital, Medical Office Building and Koppel Plaza

From Alcoa Highway, US 129

• Exit Alcoa Highway/US 129 at Kingston Pike Exit
• If traveling south from I-40/I-75, turn left onto Kingston Pike
• If traveling north from South Knoxville or Blount County, turn right onto Kingston Pike
• Merge to the inside lane
• Travel under the railroad trestle (Kingston Pike becomes Cumberland Avenue at this point)
• Turn left at the second traffic light onto 22nd Street
• For visits to the Emergency Department or Outpatient Clinics, travel one block on 22nd Street and turn right onto White Avenue. Go two blocks and turn right onto 20th Street. The entrance to the Emergency Department/Clinics parking lot is immediately on the right after turning onto 20th Street.
• For visits to the hospital, Koppel Plaza or Medical Office Building, travel two blocks on 22nd Street and turn right onto Clinch Avenue to park in the Children’s Hospital Parking Garage. The garage entrance is on the right immediately after turning onto Clinch Avenue.

From I-75 North of Knoxville

• Take I-75 South, which turns into I-275
• Stay on I-275 South toward Asheville
• Continue on I-40/I-75 West
• Take Exit 387 (17th Street/Western Avenue)
• The exit ramp merges onto Ailor Avenue
• Continue on Ailor Avenue to 17th Street
• Turn right onto 17th Street
• Go up the hill, through several traffic lights and crest the hill
• Begin to descend the hill on the other side and stop at the Clinch Avenue three-way stop
• Turn right on Clinch Avenue
• For visits to the Emergency Department or Outpatient Clinics, go three blocks on Clinch Avenue and turn left on 20th Street. Then go one block to the Emergency Department/Clinics parking lot on the right.
• For visits to the hospital, Koppel Plaza or Medical Office Building, go four blocks on Clinch Avenue and park in the Children’s Hospital Parking Garage on Clinch Avenue, located on the left between 21st and 22nd Streets.

From I-40 East or West PLEASE NOTE: Interstate 40 in downtown Knoxville is CLOSED to through traffic between James White Parkway (exit 388A) and Hall of Fame Drive (exit 389). Please use the alternate route:

Directions to Children's Hospital from Harlan, Kentucky without taking the interstate system

• Take U.S. 25E, to Pineville - approximately 30 miles
• Turn left at the Pineville bridge, follow 25-E to Tazewell - approximately 30 miles
• From Tazewell, keep going STRAIGHT to Maynardville - now Highway 33.
• You will go approximately 22 miles to Maynardville, and then Maynardville Highway will turn into Broadway in the Halls/Fountain City area of North Knoxville, approximately 12 miles.
• Continue on Broadway approximately 5 miles, and then the road will become Henley Street.
• Turn right on Clinch Avenue from Henley Street (beside the Knoxville Convention Center).
• Go 12 streets on Clinch Avenue. You will see Children's Hospital on your left at 21st Street.
• Pass the main hospital and turn left into Children's Hospital parking garage to park. (The entrance is almost at the end of the block at 22nd Street.)
