Celebrating Our EMSC Staff

EMSC Day

Today, pediatric hospitals nationwide are celebrating Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Day. The recognition of EMSC professionals and the services they provide is held in conjunction with Emergency Medical Services Week.

Children's Hospital's Lifeline Ambulance Transport Service travels more than 40,000 miles a year to bring critical patients to the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. Our dedicated EMSC team is available 24/7 and is essential to our ability to treat our region's most fragile patients. We are proud of their courage in racing toward and addressing any kind of pediatric medical emergency across the 16 East Tennessee counties we serve. It is a privilege to have three ambulances on hand specifically made to treat and transport infants, children and adolescents.

Remember to always yield the right of way to our community's ambulances and fire trucks. Your compliance will ensure your own safety, the safety of our emergency medical staff and the ability of our most vulnerable patients to get the urgent care they need.
