History

You Can Help

Fantasy of Trees has been a holiday tradition in East Tennessee since 1985. The Fantasy of Trees brings five days of holiday celebrations to Thanksgiving week, with a festive new theme every year.

Thousands of families take part in this annual celebration to get in the holiday spirit. In 2007, the Fantasy of Trees welcomed its 1 millionth guest! More than 57,780 people made the 2007 Fantasy of Trees part of their holiday celebration.

All proceeds from Fantasy of Trees benefit East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, with a different area of the hospital receiving the funds each year. With the help of generous sponsors, the loyalty of Knoxville’s corporations and organizations and many individuals, the Fantasy of Trees has raised more than $4.6 million since 1985 to benefit the sick and injured children of East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Southeast Kentucky and Western North Carolina.

Throughout its history, the Fantasy of Trees has been designed, created and staffed by thousands of dedicated and talented volunteers each year. Those volunteers devote themselves to Children's Hospital by giving over 150,000 hours annually to make the Fantasy of Trees the premier holiday event that it is today.

The Fantasy of Trees made its first-ever location change when it moved in November 2002 from the Knoxville Convention/Exposition Center to the new Knoxville Convention Center, where the event continues each year.

Fantasy Special Events
The Fantasy of Trees features hundreds of sparkling designer-decorated holiday trees, a variety of festive and colorful decorations from poinsettias and lights to floral presentations and glittering snow, and holiday gift shops with unique items for everyone on your gift list. Special annual events include an opening-night gala and the Babes in Toyland parade. Visitors to the Fantasy of Trees will also be delighted by a village of gingerbread houses, continuous live entertainment and dozens of children’s activities. And no Fantasy of Trees would be complete without a visit to Santa to remind him what’s on your gift list.

The sights and sounds of the holidays come alive at the Fantasy of Trees with continuous entertainment and music from groups throughout East Tennessee. Enjoy dancers, singers and other entertainers of all ages as they take the Fantasy Theater main stage to share their talents and ring in the holiday season.

With continuous entertainment throughout the five-day show, there is always something exciting to experience.
